ADI JANE FUNDRAISER

This donation period is very important to me (Kylie here) because it hits close to home. My brother’s best friend, Ethan, has a sister named Adi. Adi Jane is a sassy & beautiful 8-year-old girl from Danville, KY. Ethan and Adi’s family has been like family to us as long as we’ve known them.

From playing on the same baseball teams, to growing up in the same neighborhood, going to the same schools and even college, coming to my graduation and sitting with my family at Austin and I’s wedding last year… their family is very important to us and has been a huge part of our lives for the past 10+ years.

On October 10th, Adi Jane and her family received devastating news. Adi had a seizure at home, Ethan being the only one home with her, and was taken to the hospital where they found an unknown tumor in her brain. After a 4 hour surgery to remove the tumor, an MRI, and lots of testing, the doctors diagnosed Adi with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer: grade 3 Anaplastic Ependymoma. This cancer typically develops at the base of the brain and spinal cord, and unfortunately has a high likelihood of recurrence, which may mean Adi will need additional surgeries down the road.

Adi has a long road ahead of her, starting with 6 weeks of treatment. The treatment will be 5 days a week of proton radiation therapy targeted at the spot where they found the tumor. This journey brings with it unexpected financial challenges, like travel expenses, medical bills, lodging, meals, time away from work, as well as support for Adi’s three brothers - Ethan, who is finishing his last year of college at Centre College in Danville, and Braxton & Rylan, who are in middle and high school.

My mom, Dee Dee, Karson & Ethan’s friend Daniel and others from our community have stepped up to organize a silent auction event for Adi Jane on November 22nd. If you’re seeing this from Kentucky and want to donate an item for the auction, the information is below. All proceeds from items at the auction or monetary donations are going straight into a bank account set up in Adi’s name.

For the rest of 2024, MYB Apparel will be donating a percentage of all our sales directly to Adi Jane and her family. This will help with the cost of her treatment as well as taking care of their family during this incredibly difficult time. There will be links below to the Adi Jane Strong Facebook Page for updates, a direct venmo link if you feel called to directly donate to Adi and her family, as well as a link with more information about the silent auction if you’re interested.

Above all, we humbly ask that you keep Adi Jane, her family, friends & support system in your thoughts and prayers. The journey she has ahead of her is long, and challenging, but our hope is to spread the word and get her as much help and support as possible. <3

All our love,
